West Papua Acting Governor Paulus Waterpaw Won An Award From The Coordinating Minister For The Economy

SORONG - Acting Governor of West Papua Paulus Waterpauw won an award from the Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia Airlangga Hartarto for resolving discrepancies in spatial use through the revision of the RTRW in the National Working Meeting for the Implementation of the One Map Policy Acceleration.

Acting Governor of West Papua Paul Waterpauw as reported by ANTARA, Tuesday, October 4, expressed his gratitude to the Coordinating Minister for the Economy and all staff for the award given.

Waterpauw hopes that the One Map Policy can support the acceleration of investment with legal certainty. West Papua Province is also ready to support the One Map Policy in accordance with Presidential Regulation No. 9 of 2016 concerning the Acceleration of the Implementation of the One Map Policy.

Coordinating Minister for the Economy Airlangga Hartarto, who gave a separate statement, said that various efforts were taken by the government to increase development, one of which was the one map policy which became the basis of national development.

The one map policy is a program that aims to create a reference standard as a unified, accurate, and accountable geoportal database to support the acceleration of national development.

The one map policy program was launched by the President through PP No. 9/2016, with the main activities covering compilation, integration, synchronization, sharing of geospatial data and information through the National Geospatial Information Network (JIGN).

“The one map policy is also a reference in spatial-based development, spatial planning and utilization that is integrated in spatial plans on land, sea, in the earth and in the air. The one map policy is also a reference in resolving overlapping spatial uses," said Airlangga.
