Despite Being Imitated by Many, BeReal Does Not Yet Have a Way to Monetize Content in the Application
JAKARTA - A viral application for sharing new photos that is currently being used, BeReal admits that it has not found a way to monetize its content.
Even though many other apps have tried to emulate its features like Snapchat and TikTok, BeReal is still looking for paid features or subscriptions to earn money.
According to a report from the Financial Times, BeReal founders Alexis Barreyat and Kevin Perreau said they didn't want to overwhelm users with ads in the app to earn money.
Until now, the company has not provided any comments regarding this matter.
Since its launch last year, BeReal has quickly become one of the most popular social media apps among young people, captivated by its 'anti-Instagram' ethos.
With the surge in popularity, it's only a matter of time before rival apps start copying their simple premise.

This week, TikTok announced via its blog that it is launching a new feature similar to BeReal's called TikTok Now.
The social networking company is experimenting with TikTok Now over the coming weeks in several countries.
In the United States, TikTok Now can be accessed through the TikTok app. But in other regions, TikTok Now may also be available as the new TikTok Now app.
Meanwhile, last month, Instagram confirmed that it was testing its own Candid Challenges feature.
This new feature discovered by Alessandro Paluzzi will allow Instagram users who participate in Candid Challenges to see notifications at different times each day to take photos of their surroundings.
At the time, however, Meta confirmed to Engadget that the feature was an "internal prototype", and declined to provide additional details.
