Ministry of PUPR Updates Toll Road Development: Until 2024, There Are 1,014 Km Of Toll Road Ready To Operate
JAKARTA - The Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) together with the Toll Road Business Entity (BUJT) continues to accelerate the construction of several toll roads in various regions to improve connectivity between regions and improve the community's economy.
Director General of Highways of the Ministry of PUPR Hedy Rahadian said the toll road section which operates from 2020 to August 2022 is 453.12 km. Meanwhile, the toll road segment is planned to be built or operational from September 2022 to 2024 along 1,014 km. So that it is targeted to achieve the construction of toll roads in 2020-2024 along 1,450 km.
"In 2022, it is targeted that 19 toll roads along 283.15 km will be operational. As of August 2022, 6 new toll roads along 84.15 km have been operated. While the remaining 13 segments along the 199 km are targeted to be completed by the end of December 2022", Hedy said in a statement seen on the ministry's official website, Monday, September 19.
Hedy explained that the 6 toll roads that have been operating are the Cileunyi-Sumedang-Dawuan Section 1 (11.4 km), the Binjai-Langsa Section 1 section (11.8 km), the Manado-Bitung section of the Danowudu-Bitung Section (13.43 km), the Sigli-Banda Aceh Section 2 (6.35 km), the Cibitung-Cilincing Sections 2 and 3 (24.45 km), and the Taba Penjung-Bengkulu section (16.73 km).
Meanwhile, the other 13 sections targeted for operations until December 2022 are Cileunyi-Sumedang-Dawuan Section 2-6 (49.3 km), Ciawi-Sukabumi Section 2 (11.9 km), Semarang-Demak Section 2 (16.3 km), Cibitung-Cilincing Section 4 (7.7 km) section, Cimanggis-Cibitung Section 2A section (3.5 km), Cinere-Cimanggis Section 3 (5.5 km), and Serpong -Cinere Section 2 (3.6 km) section.

"For the Cisumdawu toll road, Section 2 is in the completion stage, we hope that by the end of October 2022 we can operate it until Section 3 Cimalaka. Meanwhile, Section 4-6 is expected to be completed no later than December 2022 because this toll road has been awaited by the public for a long time to reduce travel time from Bandung to Kertajati", said Hedy.
