Change Vehicle Plates To Hoard Subsidized Fuel, 2 People At OKU South Sumatra Arrested By Police
OKU - The Ogan Komering Ulu Resort Police Criminal Investigation Unit (OKU), South Sumatra arrested two perpetrators of abusing subsidized fuel oil (BBM) suspected of illegally stockpiling oil.
OKU Police Chief AKBP Danu Agus Purnomo through the Head of Public Relations, AKP Syafaruddin, said the two suspects who were arrested were the initials AS (33) and S (50) residents of Baturaja City, OKU Regency.
He explained that the disclosure of the misuse of subsidized fuel was based on reports from the local community who informed them of the stockpiling of fuel at a number of public fuel filling stations (BBM) in the local area.
The two suspects carried out hoarding actions with the mode of refueling diesel-type fuel repeatedly at several gas stations using one minibus vehicle and a dump truck.
"They have been refueling at several gas stations since four days ago before being arrested," he explained in Baturaja, Antara, Sunday, September 11.
The perpetrators filled up using tanks without modification and changed the vehicle number plates to trick the gas station officers.
After receiving subsidized fuel, he said, the perpetrator took his vehicle to a storage area in his garage and moved it into a jerry can to be sold at a high price.

From the suspect's hands, the police secured evidence of one blue truck BG 8085 F and one Toyota Kijang Inova Silver BG 893 PM, 20 cans containing 650 liters of subsidized diesel fuel, one 1.5 meters long hose, and a purchase receipt of fuel at the Air Karang gas station, OKU Regency.
