Three New Suspects In Hoarding 2.4 Tons Of Kerosene Arrested By Maluku Police

AMBON - The Maluku Police have again revealed three NEW suspects in the alleged hoarding of 2.4 tons of kerosene in Desai Waai, Salahutu District, Central Maluku Regency.

In addition to YS who was arrested during the raid last Friday (2/9), the Maluku Police Ditreskrimsus investigation team also secured GP alias Co, BAL alias Ali, and RDN alias Dino on different days and times.

"The modus operandi of the suspects is to seek profit," said Director of Criminal Investigation at the Maluku Police Kombes Pol Harold Wilson Huwae, through the Head of Sub-Directorate IV, AKBP Asmar Sena, in Ambon as reported by ANTARA, Monday, September 5.

He said that GP acted as the owner of the stockpiling location, RDN was the financier, and BAL was the supplier of the subsidized fuel.

The four suspects are currently being held at the Maluku Police Detention Center. Especially for the female suspect with the initials YS, she was secured in the police detention center in the Yos Sudarso Port area (KPYS). While the other three are in Tantui.

The four suspects were charged with Article 55 of Law Number 22 of 2001 concerning Oil and Gas as amended in Paragraph 5 of Article 40 number 9 of Law Number 11 of 2020 concerning Job Creation in conjunction with Article 55 paragraph (1) to 1 of the Criminal Code.

The case began when investigators from the Maluku Police Ditreskrimsus raided YS at his home in Waai Village, Salahutu District, Central Maluku Regency, last Friday (2/9/).

Maluku Police has again revealed three new suspects in the alleged hoarding of 2.4 tons of kerosene in Desai Waai, Salahutu District, Central Maluku Regency.

During the raid, the team secured evidence of approximately 2.4 tons of kerosene or 2,400 liters. The oil is accommodated in 10 drums measuring 200 liters (2 tons), and 20 jerry cans with a total of 400 liters.

Other evidence that was secured in the raid included a 1-inch white hose with a length of 3 meters, 1 blue tarpaulin and 39 empty jerry cans.

Currently, the evidence is still being secured at the Maluku Police Ditreskrimsus Headquarters on Rijali Street, Ambon City.
