Operation Tumpas Semeru, Sita Police 1.6 Kg Of Crystal Methamphetamine In Malang
MALANG - The Malang Resort Police secured 1.6 kilograms of methamphetamine, which was the result of the Tumpas Semeru Operation for the period August 22 to September 2, 2022.
Malang Police Chief, AKBP Ferli Hidayat, said that of the total 1.6 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine, 1.3 kilograms of illicit drugs were secured from one suspect with the initials MF, aged 25.
"For the amount of methamphetamine that was seized by officers, it was 1,670 grams or approximately 1.6 kilograms", Ferli said as quoted by ANTARA, Monday, September 5.
As for other cases related to possession of methamphetamine, which was caught in the Tumpas Semeru Operation, Ferli added, the Malang Police also arrested several suspects with the initials AFN, AF, and MLD with each evidence weighing 114.98 grams, 3.02 grams, and 111.81 grams of crystal methamphetamine.
Ferli explained that MF's arrest began when the Narcotics Unit Opsnal Team found information on the delivery of methamphetamine to the Jombang area, from Malang Regency. The team then conducted a sweep to catch the vehicle carrying the methamphetamine.

According to him, officers found the suspect vehicle on the Malang-Surabaya Toll Road. The officers then gave chase to the suspected vehicle which was later arrested in the Singosari area, Malang Regency.
"Then the officers searched the suspect's car and found a large package of methamphetamine weighing 1.3 kilograms and a small package weighing 1.3 grams", he said.
At this time, he continued, they are continuing to investigate and investigate the case. From the results of the investigation, it is known that the suspect obtained methamphetamine from a person with the initials T who is currently on the People's Wanted List (DPO).
Currently, the suspect is subject to Article 114 paragraph (2) Sub-Article 112 paragraph (2) of Law Number 35 of 2009 concerning Narcotics. The suspect faces a minimum prison sentence of six years and a maximum of 20 years.
