Director Of Central Lombok Praya Hospital Corruption Suspect Detained By Prosecutor

PRAYA - The District Attorney for Central Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) finally arrested the Director of the Praya Regional General Hospital (RSUD) with the initials ML. He became a suspect in the alleged corruption case of funds from the Regional Public Service Agency (BLUD).

In addition to the Director of the Praya Hospital, the Prosecutor's Office also detained two other suspects, namely the Treasurer of the Hospital with the initials BP and the PPK of the RSUD with the initials AS.

The Head of the Central Lombok District Attorney's Office, Fadil Regan Wahid, said that his party had named three suspects in the 2017-2021 Praya Hospital budget corruption case.

"After finding quite strong evidence, today we have named and detained three suspects in the case", he said as quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, August 24.

The case of alleged corruption at the Praya Hospital has been handled by the prosecutor's office since 2021 and in November 2021 its status was raised to the investigation stage after indications were found that state losses were found. While the number of witnesses who have been examined in this case is around 40 people, both from the Praya Hospital and Central Lombok Regency Government officials.

"Witness about 40 people who have been examined", he said.

Fadil said that based on the results of the examination and audit that had been carried out, the total state losses in the case of alleged corruption in the Praya Regional Hospital BLUD funds reached IDR 1.7 billion.

"The large temporary state losses were obtained from a price mark up of IDR 900 million, a discount of IDR 850 million, and bribes of IDR 10 and up to IDR 15 million", he added.

He said the state losses found at this time were much greater than the previous value at the time of the investigation of around IDR 750 million.

Until now, the prosecutor's office continues to investigate the corruption case by re-examining several witnesses who are suspected to be involved.

"Today, we will again examine the director, treasurer, and PPK of the Praya Hospital. They have been named suspects, we will continue to develop this case", said Fadil.

Regarding the news of the flow of funds conveyed by the suspect ML, Fadil said his party would investigate the alleged flow of funds as long as there was evidence.

"Please submit if there is evidence. We will definitely investigate it", he said.
