JAKARTA - The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government held a ceremony for the 77th Anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Indonesia at Plaza Selatan Monas, Central Jakarta. 'Recover Faster, Rise Stronger', which became the slogan for this birthday, was interpreted by DKI Governor Anies Baswedan.

"Thank you to all elements of society. Because the independence of the Republic of Indonesia was declared not by one/two people or by a group of educated people, but by all components of the nation. For that, when we commemorate the independence of the Republic of Indonesia, remember that this is the struggle of the entire Indonesian nation. We who are currently standing in this place have a responsibility to fulfill the promise of independence, namely to protect all Indonesian bloodshed and promote general welfare and justice for all citizens," said Governor Anies, Wednesday, August 17.
Governor Anies explained that for the past two years, especially Jakarta, they have struggled together to face tough challenges and tests in the face of the COVID-19 pandemic.
"Recover Faster, Rise Stronger. This sentence reminds us of the events we have faced for the past two years. We are struggling together to face tough challenges and tests. Therefore, in lightening the burden on people in need, the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government consistently puts forward the principle of justice for its citizens, as stated in the theme of this year's celebration," he said.
Governor Anies also revealed that the principle of justice applied in Jakarta is how to make citizens happy in a systematic and sustainable manner. This is because Jakarta has been a home for all groups and all ethnic groups in Indonesia and as a national barometer.
