A Year Of Being Fugitives By Police, Two Teak Loggers In Jeruklegi Cilacap Successfully Arrested
CILACAP - The Jeruklegi Police Special Crime Unit arrested two teak loggers in the Citepus RPH BKPH Bokol Jeruklegi area, Cilacap Regency. The two perpetrators with the initials T and S were residents of Citepus Jeruklegi Village, Cilacap.
Deputy Head of Cilacap Police, Commissioner Suryo Wibowo said when KRPH Citepus and the Foreman Polter were carrying out patrols, on Sunday, August 15, 2021, at around 17.30 western Indonesia time. Then the KRPH Citepus patrol team and the Foreman Polter saw four people carrying teak wood, each carrying 2 sticks which were transported using a modified motorcycle.
When questioned by KRPH Citepus, the two perpetrators admitted that the teak they brought was obtained from logging in the forest area without a permit.
On the basis of this confession, the perpetrators were brought to the house of the LMDH Chairman. On the way to the house of the Head of LMDH, 4 perpetrators managed to escape.

"Finally, after 1 year of escaping, on Friday, July 15 2022 the team managed to catch 2 perpetrators while in Citepus Jeruklegi Village. However, 2 other perpetrators managed to escape and are currently in the pursuit process," said Suryo.
Suryo explained that the perpetrators were snared in Article 82 paragraph (1) letter C, Law no. 18 of 2013 concerning Prevention and Eradication of Forest Destruction Jo Article 55 of the Criminal Code. and sentenced to a maximum imprisonment of 5 years and a maximum fine of IDR 2.5 billion.
From these arrests, 8 teak logs and 4 motorbikes that have been modified into transportation equipment were secured.
