JAKARTA - Metro Jaya Police has withdrawn the handling of the case of the finding of the presidential food package that was buried in Serab Village, Sukmajaya, Depok, West Java.

The case was handled by the Depok Metro Police. A series of witness examinations have also been carried out.

"Regarding the social assistance rice in Depok, the Metro Jaya Police will handle this case, in this case, the Polda Metro Jaya of Metro Jaya Police", said the Head of Public Relations of the Metro Jaya Police Commissioner E. Zulpan to reporters, Tuesday, August 2.

The handling of this case was withdrawn to the Metro Jaya Police to speed up the disclosure of the case. Thus, investigators can determine whether there is a criminal element.

"This shows the seriousness of the Metro Jaya Police to uncover the existing problems, whether there is really a criminal element and so on", he said.

"Because in this case the amount of rice that must be distributed to the people who should receive the aid is hundreds of thousands of tons", continued Zulpan.

The presidential social assistance package was found in the Serab Village area, Sukmajaya, Depok, West Java, on Sunday, July 31.

The discovery of the presidential social assistance items for residents affected by COVID-19 buried in the ground was revealed after the heir of the land owner, Rudi Samin, carried out excavations using heavy equipment and was being handled by the Depok Police.

Based on the results of the JNE inspection, the expedition service company admitted that the rice was found buried in the land located in Serab Village, Sukmajaya, Depok, West Java. The reason is that the rice has been damaged by the rain.
