Bekasi Mayor Deactivated Rahmat Effendi Allegedly Buying A Car Using Bribes
JAKARTA - The mayor of Bekasi, Rahmat Effendi, is suspected of buying a car from the proceeds of bribery in the procurement of goods and services as well as a job auction. This allegation was then investigated by examining a witness, namely an employee of the Bekasi City Government, Galih Gerriandani.
Acting KPK Spokesperson for Enforcement, Ali Fikri, said that Galih was questioned on Tuesday, July 26 at the KPK's Merah Putih building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta.
"The investigative team has finished examining witness Galih Gerriandani", Ali told reporters, Wednesday, July 27.
From the examination, Ali said, investigators are looking into assets belonging to Rahmat Effendi alias Pepen. One of the targeted assets is a car.
"It was confirmed, among other things, related to the alleged ownership of the suspect RE's assets, which were related to the case, including a car", he said.

However, Ali did not specify the type and price of the car from the receipt of the bribe. However, this examination is believed to shed light on the alleged money laundering crime (TPPU) committed by Pepen.
Previously reported, the KPK developed a case of alleged bribery in the procurement of goods and services as well as the auction of positions in Bekasi. As a result, Pepen was charged with money laundering.
The development was carried out after the KPK found sufficient preliminary evidence. Pepen is suspected of disguising his assets which were allegedly purchased using bribes.
