The Construction Of A Nickel Smelter From ABC Worth IDR 6 Trillion In Tanah Bumbu In Haji Isam's Jhonlin Group Area Will Absorb 1.200 Workers, Majority Of The Local Communities
JAKARTA - The construction of a nickel smelter in Tanah Bumbu Regency, South Kalimantan, with a production capacity of 40.000 tons/year will absorb around 1.200 workers.
"The nickel smelter, which belongs to PT Anugerah Barokah Cakrawala (ABC) was built on an area of 329 hectares or is included in the Special Economic Zone (SEZ) belonging to the Jhonlin Group. Construction has just started today," said CEO of Jhonlin Group, Ghimoyo in Batulicin, quoted from Antara, Tuesday 26 July.
Meanwhile, the prospective workers who will be accepted are prioritized from local residents or native residents of Tanah Bumbu Regency.
He explained that raw materials or nickel ore are imported from within the country as well as imported from abroad, then processed in the PT ABC smelter into batteries.
"The source of PT ABC's Ore Smelter comes from Sulawesi, Kalimantan to Australia," explained Ghimoyo.
Ghimoyo added that the investment value of PT ABC's nickel smelter construction cost approximately Rp 6 trillion and the construction is targeted to be completed next year.
If the PT ABC nickel smelter is completed, it will complement a number of other industrial facilities in the area, such as the Biodiesel factory which has a production capacity of 1.500 TPDs.
