His 7 Dogs Attacked An Elderly Man To Death, Samuel Cartwright Arrested By Police

JAKARTA - For no reason, seven dogs, one of which is a Pitbull, attacked a 71-year-old grandfather. The grandfather was seriously injured and was eventually declared dead.

Freddy Garcia was walking leisurely toward a shop in his neighborhood of Fresno, 20 miles south of Houston, United States.

At around 13:30 local time, Monday, July 18, suddenly seven dogs belonging to Samuel Cartwright attacked Garcia.

It is not clear what the motive for the attack was that made the dogs so brutal.

Rescuers immediately flew Garcia by helicopter to the Memorial Hermann-Texas Medical Center in downtown Houston. But Garcia was pronounced dead, the Fort Bend County Sheriff's Office said, according to NBC News.

The police moved fast. The Sheriff's Office, Fort Bend Animal Control, and the Fort Bend County District Attorney's Office identified Cartwright as the dog's owner.

He was finally arrested the next day.

Cartwright is being held in Fort Bend County Jail and his bail is set at $100,000.

"This devastating tragedy did not have to happen," Sheriff Eric Fagan said in a statement.

"I extend my deepest condolences to Garcia's family and neighbors as they adjust to the loss of Mr. Garcia,"
