During The 2.5-hour Sea Route To Rinca Island, NTT, Jokowi Had 'tempted' The Minister Of Communication And Information About Land
JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo and First Lady Iriana Joko Widodo and a limited entourage traveled about 2.5 hours on a Phinisi boat to Rinca Island, West Manggarai, East Nusa Tenggara, Thursday, July 21.
The trip using the Phinisi boat was taken after President Jokowi inaugurated the expansion of Komodo Airport in Labuan Bajo, West Manggarai.
During the trip, President Jokowi had many discussions with ministers about development in the Labuan Bajo area and the surrounding area.
The discussions that took place were sometimes punctuated with laughter, as when Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung shared his memories of visiting Labuan Bajo several years ago.
"When I went to Labuan Bajo in 2015 sir, there was a sign that said this land belongs to Johnny G. Plate," said Pramono in a press release received in Jakarta, Antara, Thursday, July 21.
The president immediately asked, "How big is the…board?" Suddenly everyone laughed because the President unexpectedly asked how big the Johnny G Plate writing board was, not the size of the land.
Minister of Communications and Informatics Johnny G Plate also replied, "Now it has been used for roads by Mr. Basuki (Minister of PUPR)."
In addition to discussing with the ministers, the President also had time to take pictures with the First Lady on the Phinisi ship which were uploaded on Instagram @jokowi.
