693 Cars In Batam Do Not Pass Emission Test, All Vehicles Fueled By Bio-Solar
KEPRI - A total of 693 four-wheeled vehicles in Batam did not pass the free emission test during an inspection held by the Batam City Environment Service (DLH), Riau Islands Province (Kepri).
"Based on data, 693 vehicles that do not pass the emission test are vehicles that use Solar or Bio Solar fuel, such as trucks and public transportation. Meanwhile, on average, private cars pass all those using Pertamax or Gasoline," said Batam City DLH Head Herman Rozie, Wednesday, July 13.
He explained that the vehicle emission test activity in the area was in order to make the Blue Sky Program a success initiated by the central government.
This activity lasts for three days, July 12-14, 2022.
He explained, in general this program aims to control air pollution, especially from motorized vehicles.
"That way, the quality of clean air will increase and invite people to experience using quality fuel," he said.

This emission test was carried out in several locations, on the first day on Jalan Ahmad Yani Temenggung Abdul Jamal, then on Jalan Gajah Mada Tiban Center, and finally on Jalan Fisabililah Batam Center.
He also appealed to people who use motorized vehicles to use environmentally friendly fuels.
"We urge the drivers to always make adjustments regularly," he said.
