The End Of Lili Pintauli's Drama In Receiving MotoGP Tickets: Declared Invalid Due To Hastily Resigning
JAKARTA - The Supervisory Board of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has finally tried the alleged receipt of accommodation and tickets for the Mandalika MotoGP by KPK Deputy Chair Lili Pintauli Siregar. However, this ethical assumption was declared invalid because she hastily submitted her resignation.
The chairman of the KPK Supervisory Board, Tumpak Hatorangan Panggabean, said that the ethics trial against Lili Pintauli was declared invalid. The reason is that she is no longer the head of the anti-corruption commission because her resignation has been approved by President Joko Widodo (Jokowi).
Lili submitted her resignation letter on June 30 and Jokowi's approval was given through Presidential Decree (Keppres) Number 71/P 2022 on Monday, July 11.
"Declare that the ethics trial has been dismissed for alleged violations of ethics and code of conduct on behalf of Lili Pintauli Siregar and terminate the ethics trial," said Tumpak while acting as Chair of the Ethics Council at the Lili Pintauli trial, Monday, July 11.
Tumpak explained that Lili could no longer be tried for ethics because she was no longer a member of the KPK. The reason is that Jokowi has signed a Presidential Decree concerning the Resignation of the KPK Leaders.
"The examinee no longer has the status of a commission member who is the legal subject of the Supervisory Board, so the alleged violation of the code of ethics cannot be accounted for again to the examinee," he stressed.
Meanwhile, after the trial, Tumpak again explained that the code of ethics only applies to KPK personnel. "So who are the KPK personnel? The leadership, the Council, and all employees," he said at a press conference at the ACLC KPK Building, Rasuna Said, South Jakarta.
"So with the Presidential Decree, of course, he is no longer a member of the KPK, so he is no longer accountable for violating the code of ethics in accordance with the code of ethics that exists at the KPK," he continued.
Lili was again reported to the KPK Council for allegedly receiving hotel accommodation facilities and tickets to watch the 2022 MotoGP race at the Mandalika International Circuit, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), from PT Pertamina (Persero).
In dealing with the alleged receipt, the KPK Supervisory Board has collected materials and information from related parties, including the state-owned company. President Director of PT Pertamina (Persero) Nicke Widyawati has also been examined some time ago and provided additional information in writing.
Not only that, but the KPK Council has also asked related parties to bring proof of booking accommodation at Amber Lombok Beach Resort and Mandalika MotoGP tickets at the Grandstand Premium Zone A-Red.

Judged as wrong
The reason the KPK Supervisory Board did not try Lili Pintauli was the spotlight of former KPK spokesman Febri Diansyah. He said the trial should still be held for evidence.
"The KPK Supervisory Board is wrong. The ethics trial for the KPK leader, Lili Pintauli Siregar, who is suspected of gratification related to MotoGP, should still be carried out," said Febri through his Twitter account, @febridiansyah.
Febri said the KPK Supervisory Board must also conduct an ethics trial against Lili because of their authority. Moreover, the former Deputy Chairperson of the Witness and Victim Protection Agency (LPSK) is suspected of violating ethics while serving as the head of the anti-corruption commission.
"The trial of the code of ethics is of course to prove the violations committed when they were leaders or employees of the KPK," he said.
"So the reason why the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Council mentions the ethics trial was aborted is that Lili resigned before the trial is clearly wrong. Because when the alleged violation occurred she was still the head of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK)," continued Febri.
Furthermore, Febri considered the death of the ethics trial to be a bad precedent in the future. Moreover, the KPK Council tends to misunderstand the context and status of KPK personnel when ethical violations occur.
"If the logic of the KPK Supervisory Board is used, it is easy for any perpetrators of violations to escape by retreating when the code of ethics is being tried," he concluded.
