Badung Regency Government Maintains Religious Tolerance for Regional Development

BALI - The Badung Regency Government, Bali continues to make efforts to maintain and care for tolerance and inter-religious harmony, including Muslims in Badung in order to advance regional development.

"We invite leaders and all Muslims in Badung Regency to play an active role in the success of regional development," said Badung Regent I Nyoman Giri Prasta in Mangupura as quoted by Antara, Sunday, July 10.

The Badung Regency Government has also provided land in the Badung Government Center (Puspem) area as the location for the 1443 Eid prayer which was attended by thousands of people from various regions.

The Regent of Giri Prasta welcomed the implementation of the 1443 H Eid prayer at the Badung Public Health Center which went very solemnly.

According to him, indeed every Eid prayer, his party prepares a location for worship in the Badung Puspem area because the Central Government area has a function as a place of service for all levels of society and as a place for carrying out religious activities.

"As well as Christians, both Protestants and Catholics, we also have Christmas here, especially for Hindu and Buddhist religious activities. This is what we need to instill," he said.

He also gave his appreciation for the implementation of the Eid al-Adha takbiran in the Badung area which has gone well. This is said to have shown that the Muslims in Badung have been able to condition the situation well so that no problems and disturbances occur.

"As the government, individuals, and communities of Badung, we give two thumbs up. Hopefully, through the implementation of Eid al-Adha, the closeness of Muslims with the Badung Regency Government, more specifically, with me, can be used as part of a large Muslim family," said Regent Giri Prasta.

On Eid al-Adha 2022, Giri Prasta Regent accompanied by the Chairman of the Badung DPRD Putu Parwata and the Badung Police Chief Grand Commissioner Adjutant of Police Leo Dedy Defretes also handed over one cow and three goats as sacrificial animals.

"The sacrificial animal that we gave to the Indonesian Mosque in Badung Regency, has been proved has no foot and mouth disease because it has been vaccinated. In addition, yesterday I also gave one cow at the Baiturrahman Angantiga Mosque in Badung," said Regent Giri Prasta.
