PPKM In Jakarta Increases To Level 2, This Is The Message Of The Deputy Governor Of DKI

JAKARTA - The implementation of Community Activity Restrictions (PPKM) in DKI Jakarta is now at Level 2 status for the next four weeks from July 5 to August 1. Previously, Jakarta implemented PPKM Level 1 for six weeks on May 24.

Responding to this, Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta Ahmad Riza Patria said that the increase in the PPKM level was partly due to the decrease in compliance with health protocols in line with the improving pandemic conditions some time ago before cases increased again.

"We will implement PPKM Level 2 in Jakarta City. We will adjust it to PPKM provisions by carrying out operational and capacity restrictions", said Riza at DKI Jakarta City Hall, Tuesday, July 5.

The increase in the PPKM assessment level in the capital, according to Riza, makes the public have to be more aware of the transmission of COVID-19, as well as vaccination to the third dose (booster) for those who have not done so.

"Let's accelerate the implementation of the third vaccine or booster. Let's invite families, anyone in our environment to immediately get the third vaccine in droves so that everyone can calm down", he said.

As is known, the Minister of Home Affairs, Tito Karnavian, has extended the application of restrictions on community activities (PPKM) on the islands of Java-Bali and outside Java-Bali through Domestic Instruction (Inmendagri) Number 33 of 2022 and Inmendagri Number 34 of 2022.

This PPKM extension is valid for four weeks, from July 5 to August 1, 2022. In implementing the PPKM this time, several regions experienced an increase in the level of assessment from PPKM Level 1 to Level 2.

Several areas that experienced an increase in the PPKM level to Level 2 are the Jabodetabek agglomeration areas such as DKI Jakarta Province, Tangerang City, Tangerang Regency, and South Tangerang City, Bogor City, Bekasi City, Depok City, Bogor Regency, and Bekasi Regency. Sorong Regency also increased to Level 2.

In the implementation of PPKM Level 2, there is a maximum capacity limitation of 75 percent for several activities such as working in the office (WFO) in the non-essential sector, schools, visits to malls, restaurants, gyms, cinemas, supermarkets, shops, markets, places of worship, public facilities, social activities, to wedding receptions.

However, the capacity for public transportation, construction activities, as well as essential and critical sector offices in the PPKM Level 2 area remains 100 percent.
