Footage Leaked On Twitter, Manchester United CEO Reveals Plans In The Transfer Market To Fans In A Pub
JAKARTA – Manchester United CEO Richard Arnold admits his team is ready to spend money this summer. This annulled rumors that the Red Devils did not prepare player transfer funds.
Arnold made the confession in a meeting with some Manchester United fans at a pub in Cheshire, England. He was not aware that his speech was recorded by one of several fans and published on social media.
Arnold held a meeting with Manchester United fans after learning of their planned protest at his home. At least 12 fans who wanted to protest first gathered at the pub.
They want to protest about the lack of new players brought in by their favorite club. However, Arnold, who replaced Woodward on February 1, was aware of the encounter.
He immediately rushed there to treat them to a drink while trying to calm them down. During the meeting they also talked about many things, including the MU transfer plan.
"We spend a billion pounds on players, we spend more than any other team in Europe. I'm not happy with where we are now, it's not easy and we have to work this out," he said, quoting The Sun.

Red Devils fans are furious at the club's lack of transfer activity. In fact, their fierce rivals Liverpool and Manchester City have spent heavily.
Currently Liverpool have signed Darwin Nunez. The player joins Jurgen Klopp's side in a £85.3 million deal from Benfica.
Meanwhile, their neighbors Manchester City have also boosted their squad with the £51.4 million (approximately IDR 983 billion) arrival of superstar striker Erling Haaland from Borussia Dortmund.
Arnold insists their new boss Erik ten Hag will have fresh funds this summer. Because the club is trying hard to improve their sixth position in the league last season as one of their worst achievements.
"This summer, the money that managers and directors of football want is there. For the future, to invest in a new stadium and things like that, for a £250m training ground, we have to do something, we have to get investors, " he said.
"I needed that to do what I wanted for the club — I had to have more money than I have now."
Fans at the meeting claimed that Arnold confirmed that club officials were currently in Barcelona to buy Dutch midfielder Frenkie de Jong.
The former Ajax player is reportedly ready to be bought for a value of 70 million pounds (IDR 1.2 trillion). The official has been in Spain for days to finalize a deal with the midfielder.
