Luhut's Meeting With The President Of The UAE And The Prince Of Saudi Arabia To Discuss Hajj Until The G20

JAKARTA - Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment, Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan, met with the President of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Mohammad bin Zayed and the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia Mohammad bin Salman, to discuss several topics, including increasing the hajj quota to the G20 Presidency.

"For three days I intensely met with the two kingdom leaders who have very special relations with the Republic of Indonesia, namely the President of the United Arab Emirates, Mohammad bin Zayed and the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia, Mohammed bin Salman", said Coordinating Minister Luhut Pandjaitan, quoting Antara, Sunday, June 19.

During the meeting with the two leaders, Coordinating Minister Luhut was accompanied by the General Chairperson of the Nahdlatul Ulama (PBNU) Executive Board, KH Yahya Cholil Staquf.

With Prince Mohammed bin Salman (MBS), Coordinating Minister Luhut admitted to discussing plans to increase Indonesia's hajj quota. In addition, Prince MBS also expressed his interest in the new State Capital (IKN) project and the mangrove restoration program.

"MBS also left a message to us that he plans to be included in the new IKN project as well as the mangrove restoration and conservation program in Indonesia", he added.

Furthermore, Coordinating Minister Luhut also admitted that he saw the support and enthusiasm of the two country's leaders for the G20 Presidency which will be held in November 2022.

He also offered Prince MBS to give a speech at a meeting of Indonesian youth and students. To UAE President Mohammad bin Zayed (MBZ), Coordinating Minister Luhut asked to be willing to support the construction of the NU University building in Yogyakarta.

"I believe that all the good things I got from these two meetings were sole because of their respect for President Jokowi", he said.

Coordinating Minister Luhut also hopes that the synergy of the two kingdoms, which have great influence in the world, can also inspire Indonesia's young generation to build the nation.

"Hopefully, with the synergistic role of the two kingdoms, which have important influences in the international world, they can inspire the younger generation of Indonesia to have more enthusiasm to contribute to the development of the nation and state", he said.

Coordinating Minister Luhut's visit to Saudi Arabia and the UAE was carried out to prepare for President Jokowi's visit to the Middle East in the future.

Coordinating Minister Luhut said the two leaders of the Middle Eastern countries had a very special relationship with Indonesia. He also assessed that the business relations between Indonesia and Saudi Arabia and the UAE were based on friendly relations.

"This great trust was seen when Prince Mohammad Bin Salman said that President Jokowi's visit to Saudi Arabia would be a high profile agenda for Prince Mohammad bin Salman", concluded Coordinating Minister Luhut Pandjaitan.
