Kemendes PDTT And AGO Will Establish A 'Village Guard Post' To Oversee The Use Of Village Funds
JAKARTA - The Ministry of Villages, Development of Disadvantaged Regions and Transmigration (Kemendes PDTT) together with the Attorney General's Office (Kejagung) work together to oversee the proper use of village funds.
Mendes PDTT Abdul Halim Iskandar said the two-state institutions were consolidating the Village Guard Post. Later, there will be assistance to suppress the problems faced by the Village Head and his apparatus, including the utilization of village funds.
"This Village Guard Post will be able to maximize the use of village funds with assistance from the Attorney General's Office," said Mendes PDTT in a written statement, Tuesday, June 14.
According to him, the capacity of village officials as policy implementers is an important factor to support the successful implementation of programs financed by village funds.
He hopes that effective collaboration with the AGO can accelerate economic recovery, and food security, and increase human resources in villages according to village authority.
"Our hope is that village funds that have been handed down to villages can accelerate national economic recovery and food security issues become a priority in village funds," said Mendes PDTT when visiting Attorney General ST Burhanuddin, Tuesday, June 14.
He added that the Village Guard Post has a role in providing assistance, guidance, and legal counseling to village officials and the community.

According to him, strengthening the effectiveness of the Village Guard Post with the Attorney General's Office is a preventive solution to minimize the occurrence of irregularities in the management of village funds.
In order to strengthen and enhance the role of the Village Guard, based on the Antara report, the Ministry of Villages, PDTT, and the Attorney General's Office have agreed to establish a Joint Command Post for Village Guards at the central level, as well as the use of information technology-based systems.
"We have agreed to form a Joint Command Post at the Center, using an application system, and this will be followed up by the Secretary-General of the Kemendes PDTT and related work units," he said.
Meanwhile, the Attorney General said that his party would follow up the cooperation with the Kemendes PDTT regarding the Joint Command Post.
He also conveyed the need to form an Integrated Team or Joint Assistance Team from the Kemendes PDTT and the Attorney General's Office.
Through this collaboration, he hopes to work effectively in supervising the management of village funds so that in the future the use of village funds can be more efficient, effective, and accountable.
"The Prosecutor's Office has a Village Guard program which aims to provide assistance to Village Apparatus. The role of the Prosecutor is (important) to provide assistance in understanding financial accountability," he said.
