Offended By Gossip Considered A Lackey, Man In Denpasar Beats His Girlfriend While Drinking Arak Together

DENPASAR - George Herman Lakollo (31) was arrested by the West Denpasar Police for beating his girlfriend, Andom Wahyuning Glory (31).

The perpetrator abused his girlfriend because he was offended by rumors about him being considered a lackey by the victim in a joint business venture.

"The victim and perpetrator actually knew each other. They were previously dating and there was a commitment to open a business or joint business in this case raising dogs", said West Denpasar Police Chief, Commissioner I Made Hendra Agustina, Monday, June 13.

The persecution took place on Thursday, June 9 at midnight in Dauh Puri Kangin Village, West Denpasar District, Denpasar City, Bali.

At that time, the victim and the perpetrator were chatting in the yard while drinking wine. The perpetrators then discussed their business ventures.

However, in the conversation, the perpetrator felt offended because he heard rumors outside, aka gossip, which said the perpetrator was considered a lackey of the victim in a business that was run by the two of them.

The victim tried to straighten out the issue, but there was a misunderstanding. The perpetrator then assaulted the victim.

"As a result of the violence carried out by the perpetrator, the victim experienced pain in the chest, upper head, back of the head, and back, then the victim suffered claw marks on the neck, scratches on the left-back, and wounds on the upper lip", added Hendra.

The victim immediately reported this incident to the West Denpasar Police. The police also arrested the perpetrator.

"Before they got into a drinking argument and while they were chatting, the perpetrator expressed his offense, that there was outside information in running this business that the perpetrator was considered a lackey or the victim's errand boy. He (the perpetrator) did not accept it and asked for clarification, then a debate ensued where the victim never felt like expressing it", he said.

The perpetrator was charged with Article 351 Paragraph (1) of the Criminal Code with a maximum sentence of imprisonment of 2 years and 8 months.
