In Order To Defeat Oleksandr Usyk On A Rematch, Anthony Joshua Gets A New Coach: A New Strategy Is Prepared

JAKARTA - Former British champion Anthony Joshua is determined to regain the world heavyweight title won by Ukrainian boxer Oleksandr Usyk in September last year.

To achieve his goal, Joshua decides to change himself in a certain way. One of them, replacing coach Robert McCracken who has long helped him.

Joshua decided to switch to an American duo; Robert Garcia and Angel Fernandez. The European fighter's priority is for the pair to help him find a new strategy to defeat Usyk.

In this regard, David Ghansa, director of the Anthony Joshua camp, spoke about the modifications to be made in their strategy.

"Angel Fernandez and Robert Garcia are very clicky. Angel loves what Garcia has to offer, there are experiences, there are similarities," he said in an interview with iFL TV.

"Now he is here as part of Angel's team. I think next week, when (Richard Riakporhe) comes out, you will see Garcia in the corner with Angel."

Currently, Angel is Riakporhe's coach. This British cruiserweight boxer will fight against Fabio Turchi on 11 June.

Meanwhile, Usyk himself won the WBA, WBO, IBF, and IBO world championship belts from Joshua in the fight held at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, England, last September 2021.

At that time, Usyk got the belt after winning by unanimous points over Joshua. The Usyk vs Joshua rematch will take place at the end of June 2022 in Saudi Arabia.
