Threatening To Kill His Father With A Machete Because He Is Often Reprimanded, Unemployed Man In Medan Is Arrested
MEDAN - The Medan Area Police Criminal Investigation Unit team arrested a man with the initials HT (42). The unemployed man was reported after threatening his biological father, Umar Sidik (73) with a machete.
Head of Criminal Investigation Unit for Medan Police Area, Commissioner Adjutant Philip Antonio Purba said the incident began when the victim was giving his grandson a cake.
"Suddenly the perpetrator took a machete and came to the complainant saying "I will kill you, I will kill you" while swinging a machete with his right hand," said Commissioner Adjutant Philip, Tuesday, May 31.
Seeing his son's behavior, the victim tried to remain calm and avoided by holding the perpetrator's body. With great affection, the victim asked the perpetrator to remove the machete from his hand.
"While holding the body from behind and holding both the hands of the reported person, he said to remove the machete," he said.
Commissioner Adjutant Philip explained that the perpetrator's reckless action was triggered by feelings of displeasure because his father often reprimanded him.
"Because his parents often reprimanded him. (The perpetrator) often chased and beat his wife," he said.

Next, the victim immediately went to the house of the neighborhood head (kepling) and reported the incident. The police who received the report immediately moved to arrest the perpetrator.
"When interrogated, the perpetrator admitted all his actions to the victim," he explained.
Currently, the perpetrator has been detained at the Medan Area Police Headquarters for investigation. For his actions, the perpetrator was charged with Article 335 paragraph (1) of the Criminal Code with the threat of imprisonment for more than 5 years," said Commissioner Adjutant Philip.
