Jokowi: COVID-19 Has Slowed Down, But I Ask The Public To Carry Out Booster Vaccinations
JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo said that the current state of the COVID-19 pandemic has slowed down. Then, community activities have also returned to normal, along with economic conditions that have started to move again.
"Of course, all of this is thanks to the success of all of us in controlling the COVID-19 pandemic well", said Jokowi in the Presidential Secretariat's Youtube video, Monday, May 30.
However, Jokowi advised the public not to be careless with the current momentum for controlling the COVID-19 pandemic. The former governor of DKI Jakarta asked the public to continue to carry out the full dose of vaccination plus the third dose (booster).
"But remember, we all must not be careless, we must maintain this momentum of recovery, for that, I ask the public to continue to carry out a complete two-dose COVID-19 vaccination plus a booster vaccination to prevent transmission", said Jokowi.
Jokowi said that booster vaccination can increase community immunity two times compared to the second dose. This booster vaccination is also needed to protect the elderly and vulnerable or comorbid community groups from transmitting COVID-19.

"The government's stock of COVID-19 vaccinations for boosters is more than sufficient. I ask the public to immediately take advantage of this free booster vaccination facility. Don't be picky because all vaccines have the same benefits, to protect us all from the COVID-19 pandemic", he said.
Meanwhile, based on data from the Ministry of Health, the achievement of booster vaccination as of May 30 was still at 45,412,157 or 21.8 percent of the target of 208,265,720 people.
