Having Sufficient Infrastructure, Bali Provincial Government Is Ready To Succeed The G20 Summit

BALI - Regional Secretary for the Province of Bali Dewa Made Indra emphasized that Bali is ready to provide the maximum possible support so that the implementation of the G20 Summit can run very well.

"The G20 Summit is a very good momentum to re-inform that Bali, in the context of tourism, which was previously slumped, is starting to rise," said Dewa Made Indra in a discussion on the readiness to organize the G20 Summit in Bali, Tuesday, May 23.

He said the facilities provided for the implementation of the G20 Presidency include logistics and infrastructure, accommodation, meeting facilities, security, arts, and health.

"Regarding infrastructure readiness, Bali has adequate road infrastructure and is ready to support the continuity and smooth running of the event," Made said as quoted by Antara.

Bali's I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport is ready to receive guests, both in terms of technical and CHSE protocols (hygiene, health, safety, and environmental sustainability protocols). Most areas of the island of Bali, he continued, already have access to an internet connection.

The Bali Provincial Government has installed 1,828 free hotspots in health services, schools, tourist attractions, and traditional villages.

"Beautification of I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport is currently being carried out. The scope of work includes verification and work on the VVIP canopy building, construction of the VVIP building to welcome the arrival of the head of state/government, work on the arrival hall, work on the VVIP parking area, work on VVIP fences and guard posts. The beautification will be completed by the end of July at the latest,” said Made.

The route arrangement from I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport to the venue in Nusa Dua, Badung is being carried out to ensure a safe road.

Then, currently being carried out structuring the Mangrove Area Tahura Ngurah Rai which will be used as a showcase by world leaders who will attend.

"The Garuda Wisnu Kencana area is also being reorganized. For the arrangement of the Garuda Wisnu Kencana area, it is relatively easy because all that is left is finishing the road and dismantling the park. The arrangement is targeted for completion by the end of June," said Made.

Regarding the accommodation readiness, he said the ITDC area which will be the location for a series of activities is ready.

“We performed various arts, including dances specifically taking the title of G20. Participants will also be served a variety of traditional Balinese and Indonesian food and drinks. We also display SME and IKM exhibitions that have Balinese products," he said.

In addition, the Provincial Government of Bali chose Endek fabric as the official fabric for the G20 clothing

"For meeting facilitation readiness, we use special environmentally friendly buses, there is a ladies program, and infrastructure facilities at all event locations such as sound, lighting and LEDs," he said.

Then he said that the security for the G20 Summit was carried out by Kodam IX/Udayana, Bali Police, Provincial/Regency/City Satpol PP and Pecalang, starting from picking up, heading to the location, round trip events to hotels and tourist attractions and other events.
