Russia Affirms It Doesn't Want World War III To Break Out, But Is Ready To Repel Threatening Aggression
JAKARTA - Russia does not want a large-scale war to break out, but at the same time is ready to face the aggression that comes with a swift and strong response, according to top Kremlin officials.
Russia will not allow World War III to break out, but on the other hand is ready to provide a quick and strong response if attacked, according to Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council, Dmitry Medvedev.
This he said on Telegram, after a visit to the nuclear center in Sarov. He said the country's nuclear shield consisted of an arsenal of advanced and reliable weapons.
With the existence of this 'shield', Medvedev said it was able to cool the ambitions of those who want to launch World War III with their own hands and that of others."
"We will not allow this situation", said Medvedev, launching TASS on May 18.
"But we are compelled to always say as a reminder that in the event of an attack on our country, we can provide an immediate and super-strong response, repelling any aggression that threatens our country", he stressed.
He added that Russian science needed support in conditions of sanctions.
