COVID-19 Cases In West Bangka Return To Zero
BANGKA BARAT - The COVID-19 Task Force for West Bangka Regency, Bangka Belitung Islands Province recorded that the number of residents who were confirmed positive and required to be isolated today returned to zero after one patient was declared cured or the quarantine period had ended.
"One patient from the Tempilang sub-district has recovered, so as of today there are zero cases. However, we still need to be vigilant to minimize the risk of contracting the infection by being disciplined in carrying out health protocols", said the Spokesperson for the West Bangka Regency COVID-19 Handling Task Force, M. Putra Kusuma in Mentok, reported by Antara, Tuesday, May 17.
According to him, so far residents are considered quite proactive in preventing transmission, both in terms of implementing health protocols and in participating in COVID-19 vaccination activities.
Prevention of virus transmission continues to be carried out and the results in recent weeks the number of people who have been confirmed positive is very small, even since Friday, May 6 only one patient has been declared cured.

As for the vaccination program, the target number of vaccine recipients in the area is 157,934 people, so far 133,053 or 84.25 percent have received the first dose of vaccine, and 106,744 or 67.59 percent have received the second dose of vaccine and for the third dose or booster has been given. to 19,861 people or 12.59 percent.
In addition, the government has also given COVID-19 vaccinations to the age group of six to 11 years with a target of 21,726 children, the recipients of the first dose of vaccine were 20,862 or 96.02 percent and the second dose reached 17,686 or 81.4 percent.
