Corruption Case In Procurement Of Office Equipment, Bengkulu Bawaslu Members Named As Suspects
BENGKULU - The Kaur District Attorney has appointed the Head of the 2018 Bawaslu Secretariat as well as the PPK of the Kaur Regency Bawaslu with the initials RD and the Treasurer of the Election Supervisory Body (Bawaslu) of Kaur SA as suspects for alleged corruption.
Both were named suspects in the alleged corruption case of misuse of the socialization budget and procurement of office equipment for the District Supervisory Committee (Panwascam) at Bawaslu in Kaur Regency, Bengkulu.
Head of the Legal Information Section of the Bengkulu High Prosecutor's Office, Ristianti Andriani, said that indications of state losses incurred are currently still being calculated by the Special Criminal Investigator of the Kaur District Attorney's Office.
"Suspect SA was detained for 20 days at the Manna Detention Center for a legal process to account for the act detrimental to the State Finance and for suspect RD, the detention was transferred from the Kaur Police to the Manna Detention Center," Ristianti said in Bengkulu, quoted by Antara, Sunday 15 May.
Prior to being named a suspect, the Special Crimes Investigator of the Kaur District Attorney's Office had conducted intensive summons and asked for statements from several witnesses in the alleged case.
The corruption case began with a public report regarding the use of 2018/2019 State Budget (APBN) conducted by the Kaur Regency Bawaslu.

During the examination, it was found that both of them violated Article 2 paragraph (1) of Law Number 31 of 1999 as amended by Law number 20 of 2001 concerning Amendments to Law Number 31 of 1999 concerning Eradication of Corruption Crimes junto Article 55 paragraph ( 1) Criminal Code.
Then, Article 3 of Law Number 31 of 1999 as amended by Law Number 20 of 2001 concerning Amendments to Law Number 31 of 1999 concerning Eradication of Criminal Acts of Corruption in conjunction with Article 55 paragraph (1) of the Criminal Code.
And Article 9 of Law Number 31 of 1999 as amended by Law Number 20 of 2001 concerning Amendments to Law Number 31 of 1999 concerning the Eradication of Criminal Acts of Corruption in conjunction with Article 55 paragraph (1) of the Criminal Code.
"We are trying to continue to take legal action against anyone who acts against the law and can harm the country," she said.
Ristianti continued, her party will also take firm action against anyone who is involved in these activities, and the public is asked to become social control and report if there are things that are considered to have harmed the state.
