Ajax Amsterdam Introduces Alfred Schreuder As New Coach, Erik Ten Hag's Former Assistant Who Has Worked At Barcelona

JAKARTA - Dutch League club, Ajax Amsterdam, has officially appointed a new coach to fill the vacant position left by Erik Ten Hag who will soon train Manchester United. He is Alfred Schreuder.

In the contract agreement, Ajax and Schreuder agreed to cooperate for the next two years.

Quoted from Reuters, Schreuder was Ten Hag's assistant at Ajax for 18 months. He was also Ronald Koeman's former assistant at Barcelona last season.

This inter-Ajax coach has also been the head coach of Twente and Hoffenheim clubs. He is currently still in control at Belgian club Club Brugge.

While leading Brugge, Schreuder was able to bring his team back from behind to lead the Belgian League standings at the end of the season. His team will ensure the title if they win this week.

Having the great opportunity to manage Ajax Amsterdam, Schreuder feels honored and welcomes this openly. The 49-year-old coach has even planned to give the best for de Joden.

"Being the head coach of Ajax is an honor and a great opportunity for me, which I welcome with both hands. I want to present my prize in Amsterdam with a team that plays this attractive football," said the new coach as quoted by Reuters.

Although he has been officially appointed as coach of Ajax Amsterdam, Schreuder is not still carrying out his duties at his old club. He will only start working in Amsterdam after finishing this season with winning performances.

"But first of all, I want to finish the season successfully with Club Brugge. I will do everything I can to make it happen," concluded Schreuder.
