Consignment Meeting For Stages And Budget Discussion For 2024 General Election Is Held Behind Closed Doors
JAKARTA - Deputy Chairman of Commission II of the DPR, Junimart Girsang, confirmed that his party will schedule a meeting with the government and election organizers to discuss the stages of implementing the 2024 Simultaneous Election.
A joint meeting with the Ministry of Home Affairs, the General Election Commission (KPU), and the Election Supervisory Body (Bawaslu) will be held from today Friday, May 13 to Sunday, May 15, 2022.
Junimart said the consignment meeting had already received approval from the Chairman of the DPR, Puan Maharani.
"Yes (that's right, the meeting, ed) based on permission from the Chair of the DPR RI, Commission II will conduct a consignment on May 13-14, 2022 with KPU-Bawaslu and the Government in the context of discussions regarding programs, stages, budgets," said Junimart when confirmed, Thursday, May 12, evening.
The PDIP politician explained the reason why the consignment was often carried out during recess. In fact, on May 16, the DPR started to open the session period.
Junimart said this meeting was to shorten the time for discussing the stages of the election, especially regarding regulations and budget finalization.
"For the time efficiency of election organizers so that they are not disturbed, especially for budgeting according to stages, work programs. Because according to the results of the previous RDP or Work Meeting, the stages in the context of the election must be carried out no later than August for verification of political parties and others," he explained.

Previously, Member of Commission II of the Indonesian House of Representatives Muhammad Rifqinizamy Karsayuda, said his party would conduct an in-depth study on PKPU and Perbawaslu from Friday, May 13 to Sunday, May 15, 2022. Along with the approval of the voting day on February 14, 2024.
"From May 13 to 15, we will conduct an in-depth investigation regarding the PKPU and Perbawaslu plans with the government, KPU, and Bawaslu," Rifqi said in Jakarta, Thursday, May 12.
Commission II of the DPR RI, continued Rifqi, will also discuss the finalization of the 2024 election budget. In which, the RI KPU has proposed a budget of IDR 76.6 trillion, which is the result of rationalization and re-calculation of the previous submission of IDR 86 trillion.
"This is a positive signal for all parties with an interest in organizing the 2024 elections. That our constitutional democracy agenda will run according to our shared expectations," said Rifqi.
