Minister Of Transportation Budi Karya: Jabodebek LRT Becomes The Government's Solution To Solve Urban Transportation Problems
JAKARTA - Minister of Transportation Budi Karya Sumadi revealed that the construction of the Jabodebek Light Rail Transit (LRT) is part of the government's efforts to solve urban transportation problems.
"The construction of the Jabodebek LRT is part of the government's efforts to solve urban transportation problems with mass transportation," said Budi Karya Sumadi at an online seminar in Jakarta, quoted from Antara, Friday, May 13.
The Minister of Transportation also added that in the context of constructing the Jabodebek LRT, the government provides fiscal support through State Equity Participation (PMN) to PT KAI and also through government guarantees for syndicated bank loans.
The use of the LRT can not only be reached in a faster time, but also with a definite schedule and convenience. The Minister of Transportation hopes that with the Jabodebek LRT, people will be able to switch to mass transportation modes.
The Minister of Transportation assessed that until now the Jabodetabek area still has to struggle with the issue of congestion, the cause of which is the excessive use of private vehicles.
"With good intermodal integration, it is hoped that it will make it easier for people to use public transportation, so that it can increase public interest in using public transportation," said Budi Karya Sumadi.
