Exploded By Firecrackers, A Nature Reserve Tree In Depok City Is On Fire
DEPOK - The Kolang-Kaling tree in a forest in the city of Depok is on fire. The fire is thought to have originated from a firecracker explosion. Welman Naipospos, Head of the Operational Control Division of the Depok City DPKP, said the incident occurred on Lapangan Koni II street, the Nature Reserve, Pancoran Mas, Depok, Tuesday, May 10, at 18:44 western Indonesia time.
"That's right (the Nature Reserve Tree) is on fire. It is suspected that it was due to firecrackers," said Head of Operational Control of the Depok City DPKP Welman Naipospos to VOI, Tuesday, May 10.
Welman said that the incident began when a group of small children played with firecrackers at the edge of the forest, close to a tree in the nature reserve. While playing with firecrackers, the explosion makes sparks so that they propagate to tree trunks.

Officers who received the report arrived at the scene around 19.00 western Indonesia time. They only fielded four personnel to extinguish the fire.
"At 20.30 western Indonesia time the fire was under control or successfully extinguished, at 20.40 western Indonesia time returned to the office," he concluded.
