KENDARI - The Kendari City Government, Southeast Sulawesi introduced the Kendari Metaverse Program to the community through the Kendari Expo which was held in the Field, Benu-benua, Benu-Benua Village, the local city.
Kendari Mayor Sulkarnain Kadir in Kendari, Tuesday evening, May 10, said the Kendari Metaverse is a program to welcome technological advances in the future, but does not leave identity as an entity from culture and grows to live in the community.
"The Kendari City Government introduces future technology that some of us may not know about. Therefore, at this exhibition we introduce a program to welcome future technological advances by presenting the Kendari Metaverse," he said when opening the Kendari Expo in the context of the City's 191st Anniversary Kendari.
The mayor said that during the five-day exhibition from 10 to 14 May 2022, his party provided a Kendari Creative Space booth to facilitate people who want to try out what this new technology looks like.
He admitted that his party will continue to develop and perfect the Kendari Metaverse by involving the younger generation in the area, so that they can support progress, including development in Kendari City.
He explained that with the Kendari Metaverse Program, people will no longer come physically to be able to take care of administration related to government.

"This is not done to be talkative or not to be arrogant, but it really shows that we are serious so that Kendari City does not lag behind other regions in Indonesia, maybe even other cities in the world," said the mayor, quoted by Antara.
The Kendari City Government is designing various services in the Kendari Metaverse, one of which is a tourist attraction, where later the public can first check the metaverse regarding the atmosphere and conditions of the destination, without having to check directly.
"They will know the atmosphere first, what the situation is, the atmosphere and its advantages, only later when they come to see it in Kendari City it will be familiar," said the mayor.
Not only that but a service system will also be included in this metaverse, so that residents can later get population services, including paying taxes and so on.
"This later will be our sale, the advantage of Kendari City. Hopefully, once they try it in the metaverse, they will be more interested and willing to come to real terms in Kendari City," said the Mayor.
On that occasion, the Mayor also reminded all young people in the area to prepare themselves by improving quality, enriching skills, so that they do not become spectators in their own area, but become actors in the era of technological progress.
"If we present this spirit, God willing, we are optimistic, we should be confident and look to the future Kendari presents a successful city and its people are more prosperous," said Sulkarnain Kadir.
