Indonesian U-23 National Team Demanded To Win Against Timor Leste, Shin Tae-yong: We Already Know Their Strength
JAKARTA - The U-23 Indonesian national team will face Timor Leste in the second match of the Group A elimination for the Vietnam 2022 SEA Games. The two teams will compete tactically and physically on the field on Tuesday 10 May at 19.00 p.m. GMT+7 (Indonesian Time).
The Indonesian U-23 national team is required to win in this match. If the draw or even lose, the chance to the semifinals could be closed. The reason is, in the first match against Vietnam, Garuda Muda lost 0-3.
The Indonesian national team coach, Shin Tae-yong, expressed his optimism ahead of the match which took place at the Viet Tri Stadium, Hanoi. According to him, the team's preparation is much better than before.
"We are ready to fight Timor Leste. The team is in good condition, although there are a number of players with minor injuries. If the players' mentality is strengthened and we focus on ourselves, I think victory can be achieved," said Shin Tae-yong quoted from the Indonesian Football Association (PSSI) page.

On the other hand, Shin Tae-yong considers that the schedule for the national team, which has only appeared once, is an advantage. Because, the coach can see how the opponent's strength map in other matches, including the match that was played by Timor Leste.
"I have also watched two Timor Leste parties at the 2021 SEA Games. We already know their strengths and have met Timor Leste seniors twice during FIFA Match Day at the end of January in Bali," said the coach.
The South Korean coach is believed to be making a formation change after the defeat to Vietnam. Those who previously became a reserve also had the opportunity to appear from the first minute.
