Jabodetabek Remains PPKM Level 2 Until May 23, Restrictions On Some Activities Relaxed
JAKARTA - Minister of Home Affairs Tito Karnavian issued Instruction of the Minister of Home Affairs (Inmendagri) Number 24 of 2022 regarding the extension of PPKM in Java and Bali.
According to the Ministry of Home Affairs, the Jabodetabek agglomeration areas, namely Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, Tangerang, and Bekasi, will continue to apply PPKM Level 2 for the next two weeks until May 23.
The Directorate General of Regional Administration of the Ministry of Home Affairs, Safrizal said, there was an easing of restrictions on a number of activities in Level 2 PPKM areas.
"Substantially, there are several adjustments, including changes in the number of regions at each PPKM level," said Safrizal in his statement, Tuesday, May 10.
More specifically, the easing includes extending the operating hours of restaurants or restaurants that are open at night from 18.00 to 02.00 local time with a visitor capacity of 75 percent for areas with PPKM Level 2.
"This capacity (75 percent) also applies to wedding reception activities, but with the provision that there is no eating on the spot," he said.
In addition, in the extension of the Java Bali PPKM, regulations regarding the requirement to show negative PCR results and antigens for several activities were removed, such as in the implementation of sports competitions, for all players, officials, media crew, support staff, and all spectators.
"However, all of them are still required to get at least a second dose of vaccination," he said.

In the implementation of PPKM in the next 2 weeks, the number of regencies/cities implementing PPKM Level 1 decreased from 29 regions to 11 regions, as well as the number of regions at Level 3 decreased from 2 regions to 1 region. On the other hand, the number of Level 2 regions increased from 97 regions to 116 regions.
The same pattern also occurs in the extension of PPKM outside Java-Bali. The number of regions in Level 1 dropped from 131 regions to 88 regions. Level 3 regions decreased from 39 regions to 22 regions. Meanwhile, Level 2 regions increased from 216 regions to 276 regions.
"The decline in the number of Level 1 in several areas, both in the Java-Bali region and outside Java-Bali, is a warning to all of us that this pandemic is not yet completely over, lest another wave of increasing cases occur like the last two years," he added.
