His Team Wins The Second Series Of The LMP2 World Endurance Championship In Belgium, Indonesia's Sean Gelael Makes History
JAKARTA - The team strengthened by Sean Gelael, WRT #31, won the 6 Hours of Spa-Francorhamps LMP2 class, Saturday, May 7 yesterday. This is the first win for WRT #31 of the 2022 season.
In addition, this victory made Sean Gelael listed his name in the history of the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC). He became the only Indonesian racer who was able to win in the event.
Sean Gelael became the first rider to go down and was immediately confronted by the opponent's attack. For more than 20 minutes, the former Formula 2 driver managed to well withstand the barrage of attacks from opponents.
The race was stopped due to an incident involving another rider. Then the race continued with the safety car. After that, WRT #31 was unstoppable.

"It's a good day for the team. I'm very happy for everyone. A 1-2 position at home means a lot to WRT," said Sean Gelael as reported by the team's official website.
"This is a big reward for all the amazing work the team has done since Sebring. Now, we need to keep the momentum going and try to get the next win, which is at Le Mans," continued the 25-year-old rider.
Thanks to this victory, WRT #31 leads the team and driver standings. The third series of the FIA WEC will be held at the legendary venue, Le Mans, entitled 24 Hours of Le Mans, on June 11-12.
