Reply To PAN And Ade Armando's Legal Counsel Regarding Eddy Soeparno's Report To The Police
JAKARTA - The National Mandate Party (PAN) plans to report back against Ade Armando and his lawyer for policing the Secretary-General of PAN, Eddy Soeparno.
PAN DPP chairman Saleh Partaonan Daulay said his party would sue Ade Armando for defamation and spreading hate speech.
"I emphasize here, that the National Mandate Party will use our constitutional right to report Ade Armando's party on the basis of defamation of the good name of Muannas Alaidid and his brother Muannas Alaidid on the basis of allegations of spreading hatred, the evidence of which can be clearly read on social media," Saleh told reporters, Wednesday, April 20.
Saleh stated that PAN would guard and deal with the report of Ade Armando's team of attorneys against Eddy Soeparno to the police regarding his tweet on Twitter.
"In principle, the PAN DPP is ready to face subpoenas and reports to the police," he said.
Saleh ensured, the party will oversee every process that runs in the police. They believe that Eddy Soeparno is innocent.
"We make sure that the party will oversee the whole process. Because we believe and believe that my brother, Secretary-General of PAN Eddy Soeparno, has not done anything wrong," said Saleh.
The chairman of the PAN faction of the DPR RI actually considered it strange that the report by Ade Armando's attorney was carried out secretly at night and only released the next day.
"How come you don't feel confident reporting to the police secretly like that and at night. Even before that, Legal Notice has been talked about everywhere. It's like an anticlimax," he continued.
On the other hand, Saleh emphasized that as a Member of the DPR RI, Eddy Soeparno has an obligation to voice and act on situations that occur in society. Furthermore, the actions of a member of the DPR in carrying out their duties are protected by article 224 of the MD3 Law.
"We also reject the statement by Ade Armando's attorney who accused the DPR members of acting arbitrarily because they have the right to immunity. The accusation will offend many other members of the legislature if it is not withdrawn immediately and accompanied by an apology," he said.
According to the member of Commission IX of the DPR, all actions, statements, and activities carried out publicly by Eddy Soeparno are as members of the DPR RI who voice their opinions. As well as in response to the situation that occurs and as a form of supervisory function that is protected by law.
“Lawyer Ade Armando said that my brother Eddy Soeparno is Commission VII and has nothing to do with the blasphemy case. This is clearly wrong. The members of the DPR RI, wherever their commission is assigned, have constituents whose aspirations must be heard and voiced," said Saleh.
"That is why the law does not specifically mention that members of the DPR must speak according to their commission, but talk about their duties, functions, and authorities as members of the DPR," he continued.

Meanwhile, responding to PAN's threat, Ade Armando's side said they were ready to face it.
"If they are still nagging, let it be their right, we will face it. I defend my client, Ade Armando, all out in the matter of their secretary general's sadistic accusations," Ade Armando's lawyer, Muannas Alaidid, told reporters, Wednesday, April 20. Muannas explained that his party was policing Eddy Soeparno because as a consequence he did not delete the tweet and apologized to Ade Armando. For that, he said, PAN must receive a reply from Ade Armando's side.
"They should have the courage to tweet sadistically, so they must be brave enough to accept a reply. We don't want to delete the tweet and apologize for the risk. We will take legal steps," Muannas said.
He said that the accusation was the motive for beating Ade Armando at the demonstration site on April 11. violence for them to report again to the police," he concluded.
