Fighting Against Climate Change, Instagram Brings Fundraising Features To Reels
JAKARTA - Instagram launched a new initiative for users who want to donate to a fundraising program through Reels. This feature can be used directly in the Reels.
Instagram users in over 30 countries can attach a donate button to their Reels, turning short videos into fundraisers.
As with donations on Facebook and other Instagram content, Meta will collect and forward donations to over 1.5 million nonprofits at no charge, or pay the processing fees themselves.
Meta covers payment processing fees for charity fundraisers, so every penny that users donate goes to a nonprofit.
In fact, this fundraising feature has been available first in Stories and has continued to stream live for the past few years. The appearance of this feature is also part of the efforts of Meta Earth Day.
Meta said that more than 4 million people have donated more than 150 million US dollars or approximately IDR 2.1 trillion through Instagram and Facebook, to protect the environment and non-profit organizations fighting against climate change.
