In Depok, PKS Billboard Supports Discourse 3 Periods As Long As Village Heads

JAKARTA - PKS through its spokesman, Muhammad Kholid, installed a large billboard in the Jalan Margonda Raya Depok area, precisely at the intersection between the University of Indonesia and Kelapa Dua Depok, West Java.

At that location, billboards are installed with content that attracts the attention of the wider community who pass by. On the billboard is a photo of PKS Spokesperson Muhammad Kholid with the caption "3 Periods? Yes, as long as you become a village head!"

Kholid referred to the discourse on postponing the election and extending the office of the President to 3 terms.

"We have to stop the discourse on postponing elections and extending the presidency. Because it is unconstitutional, it kills democracy and will trigger national socio-political instability", said Kholid as quoted from the PKS official website, Tuesday, April 19.

The alumnus of the University of Indonesia satirized anyone who wanted the discourse of postponing the election or extending the presidential term for 3 terms.

"If you still insist on extending the term of office of the president and want it to be constitutional, it is possible. The trick is to become a village head, that can be elected for up to 3 terms and each term of office is 6 years according to the provisions of Law number 6 of 2014 concerning Villages", he said.

Kholid also believes that the majority of village heads reject the idea of postponing elections and extending the presidency.

"What the village head needs is the welfare of the village apparatus and community. Not an extension of the president's office", he concluded.
