Convinced That Bayern Can Beat Villarreal, Nagelsmann: It Won't Happen Again, Played Badly Against The Same Team Twice
JAKARTA - Bayern Munich coach Julian Nagelsmann is very confident that he can bring his team to victory over Villarreal when the two teams meet in the second leg of the 2021/2022 European Champions League quarter-finals on Wednesday, April 13 in the morning.
The Bavarians suffered their first loss in the Champions League competition this season away to Villarreal in the first leg last week. In that match, the hosts won 1-0 and had several golden opportunities that failed to convert into goals.
"We played a bad game and they played their best game. It won't happen again, playing badly against the same team twice," Nagelsmann said.
After that defeat, Munich immediately got a 1-0 win at home to Augsburg in the German Bundesliga continued on Saturday last weekend. However, their performance in that match was not so impressive as they wasted many chances.
Nagelsmann admitted that the results showed a decline in performance for his team. However, he assured the decline was only temporary.
"It's normal when you win so many titles and have success over the years so you might sometimes need this pressure to get the maximum out. Maybe it [against Villarreal] will be an interesting game from our side tomorrow," he said.

Bayern who have six titles in the European Champions League will be the favorites in the duel against Villarreal. The winner of this match will face Benfica or Liverpool in the semifinals later.
However, Munich came up with a number of facts that did not favor them. Since the 2014-15 season, the Bavarian's steps in the Champions League usually stopped after suffering a defeat in the first leg.
Ironically again their four first-leg defeats since then all came against teams from La Liga. However, Nagelsmanns' side has won five of their last six home games in all competitions.
