Erick Thohir Says 31 Percent Of Millennials In Indonesia Don't Have A Home

JAKARTA - Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) Erick Thohir said that some young people or millennials do not yet have housing. In fact, they are said to be the pillars of the national economy. This is because it is related to the potential demographic bonus, which is dominated by young people in the next few years.

"According to data, 31 percent of millennials in Indonesia do not yet own a house. Even though the millennial generation will be one of the pillars of the Indonesian economy with the demographic bonus," he said, quoted from his official Instagram @erickthohir, Monday, April 03.

To answer this problem, Erick Thohir provides a solution. One of them is through collaboration between state-owned companies.

"We took the initiative to help provide housing that is easily accessible from the city center with public transportation at affordable prices for the millennial generation," he explained.

Furthermore, Erick said that the housing provided was expected to be able to accelerate economic growth.

"Occupancy like this can help us achieve equity and accelerate economic growth," he said.

SOEs collaborate to present solutions for home needs

As previously reported, SOE Minister Erick Thohir provided a one-stop solution for millennials and Gen Z, to fulfill residential housing. This is after seeing the fact that millennials and Gen Z need these services.
