Game Producer Announce Decision To Postpone 'The Legend Of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild' Sequel

JAKARTA - Bad news for fans of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. Nintendo has just announced in a short video that the sequel to the game will be delayed.

The company is now targeting a release in the spring of 2023 having previously said the game would air sometime in 2022.

“The sequel to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild has a new release date: Spring 2023. We will eagerly await further updates!” wrote his official Twitter account on Tuesday, March 29.

As with other delays like this one, Nintendo didn't offer much detail on the reason for the delay. Legend of Zelda series producer Eiji Aonuma simply said that the company decided to extend development time a bit and apologized to those who were looking forward to playing the new game.

The 1 minute 30 second video gives a glimpse into the gameplay for the upcoming sequel, which focuses heavily on how this adventure will unfold in the skies above Hyrule as well as on the ground.

The trailer isn't much different from the previously released trailer in 2021, but at least it's a good refresher for what you've got to look forward to.

However, one detail that catches the eye is the scene where Link is holding a fairly outdated version of the iconic Master Sword. In the meantime, don't despair, Switch fans have plenty of great games to look forward to in 2022.
