For Helping, The Large Family Of Prisons In Sampit Donate Blood For PMI
SAMPIT - The extended family of Class II B Sampit Penitentiary, East Kotawaringin Regency, Central Kalimantan, donated blood to help supply blood for the local Indonesian Red Cross (PMI).
"This blood donation activity is a form of concern for all levels of correctional officers, including the Sampit Prison Employees for the community", said Head of Class II B Sampit Prison, Agung Supriyanto in Sampit, Friday, March 25.
Dozens of blood donors who came to donate blood to the PMI Secretariat of East Kotawaringin consisted of Sampit Class II B Prison employees and members of the Correctional Women's Association (PIPAS) Class IIB Sampit Correctional Institution.
Agung said that this time the blood donation was carried out simultaneously by all correctional officers and members of PIPAS throughout Indonesia, including the extended family of the Class II B Sampit Prison.
This activity was carried out based on the order of the Director-General of Corrections at the Ministry of Law and Human Rights in the context of the 58th Correctional Service Day (HBP) in 2022.
According to Agung, there are still several other community care activities that have been arranged in this series of moments. However, he emphasized that blood donation activities will become a routine activity for his party to help supply blood needs for the community through PMI.

This commitment is expected to be able to help a little to overcome the blood shortage that PMI Kotawaringin Timur often experiences. Based on the provisions, each donor can donate blood every three months if their condition is judged to meet the requirements.
"This blood donation activity will be routinely carried out by the Sampit Lapas staff and the PIPAS women in the future following the provisions in force at PMI", Agung said as quoted by Antara.
Meanwhile, the Head of PIPAS Sampit Prison, Sri Agung said that the PIPAS women as the wives of the correctional officers also did not want to be left behind in their role in the success of the various series of activities of the 58th HBP.
"Hopefully what we are doing together will benefit the community", Sri Agung hoped.
The head of the East Kotawaringin PMI Blood Donor Unit, Dr. Yuendri Irawanto, expressed his gratitude to all ranks of the Sampit Prison and the members of the Sampit Prison Pipeline who have donated blood to the community through the East Kotawaringin PMI.
"Surely this is very beneficial for people in need because a drop of your blood, life for others", he said.
