NTT Ltd Presents Virtual Tour De France Cycling Experience

JAKARTA - Not a few sporting events have been postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. In order to continue to bring the excitement of sports events, NTT Ltd presents innovative remote technology for the 2020 Tour de France.

Make virtual use of the global stadium, allowing fans to watch bicycle racing from home. Where Amaury Sport Organization (ASO) together with NTT Ltd. as a technology partner brings you the Tour de France 2020 virtually.

Technically, 70 NTT employees from five continents operate remotely to support the race by developing a 'Technical Virtual Zone' which brings together various technologies to bring a virtual experience of the Tour de France event from afar for the first time in 3D or three dimensions.

To create a digital 'global stadium' for Tour de France 2020 fans who could not be at the venue of this year's event, NTT and ASO have leveraged their advanced real-time data analytics capabilities.

The data and analytics are displayed live on various channels including the new Augmented Reality Data (AR) Application, which gives users the option in a unique way to view and interact with race data and stunning views of the Tour de France track in real time.

NTT Ltd. and ASO also provides insight and visualization of new data as part of the live television broadcast so that viewers can enjoy and understand the races and performance of each team.

Whereas through the official Game channel 'Tour de France Fantasy' it enhances the fan experience, with machine learning predictions provided by #NTTPredictor at each stage.

"The approach we are taking at this year's Tour de France has revolutionized the way future sporting events are organized. We are using technology to take fan experiences to the next level," said NTT Ltd Chief Marketing Officer Ruth Rowan.

With this innovation, he continued, fans can see racing in a different way, really closer to the action being performed and more people can enjoy it safely than ever before.
