Central Kalimantan Police Chief Ensures Safe Cooking Oil Stock

PALANGKA RAYA - Central Kalimantan Regional Police Chief Inspector General Pol Nanang Avianto ensured that the stock of cooking oil for the people in this province is still safe.

"Based on observations at a number of traditional markets in Palangka Raya City, the stock of cooking oil is safe. Meanwhile, the market price is still within the normal limit of IDR 15,000 per liter," he said in Palangka Raya, Thursday, March 24.

The two-star general explained that his party monitors the availability of cooking oil at the distributor and agent level. The results concluded that the stock of cooking oil can certainly meet the needs of the community, including in the City of Palangka Raya.

Cooking oil stocks are also guaranteed to be safe until the holy month of Ramadan, which is only a few days away. Even so, his party continues to monitor the distribution and stock of cooking oil on the market.

"In response to this, the ranks of the Central Kalimantan Police will continue to maintain these conditions and of course by involving all relevant stakeholders," he said, as quoted by Antara.

Nanang emphasized that his party would take firm action against businessmen and people who dare to hoard cooking oil. Strict action needs to be taken because hoarding will cause scarcity and an increase in wealth that burdens the community.

"The Directorate of Special Criminal Investigation (Ditreskrimsus) will directly monitor the availability of cooking oil on the market. If there are indications of hoarding for-profit and harm to the community, we will take firm action," said Nanang.

Head of Trade Division of the Office of Trade, Cooperatives, MSMEs, and Industry of Palangka Raya City Hadriansyah explained that currently, the availability of cooking oil stocks at each distributor in the local area is still safe.

Cooking oil stocks are also safe during the month of Ramadan until the upcoming Eid al-Fitr. The selling price in the market varies, but the highest retail price has been determined by the central government.

"In our supervision for some time until now there are no residents or traders who hoard cooking oil. Hopefully this will not happen in our area," he said.
