Shazam Launches New Feature To Make It Easy For Users To Find Music Concerts

JAKARTA - The pandemic has gradually recovered, and now many live music performances are being held. To make it easier for users to find concerts, Shazam is now launching a new feature.

Apple's music streaming service is rolling out a new feature meant to make it easier for users to find events near their location, so music lovers don't miss the shows they can easily attend.

Starting today, when Shazam users search for it in the app or on the website, they will also see relevant concert information and tickets on sale for upcoming shows.

However, if they like a particular artist, they can easily visit the new Shazam Artist page on the platform to see the date, time, and location of upcoming shows.

The page will also show additional tours or information, along with the ability to add any events to their calendar.

Shazam uses information from the Bandsintown concert discovery app for this feature, and musicians who want the service to display details of their event must provide that information through Bandsintown For Artists.

Bandsintown is a powerful platform that collects concert and performance information. Bandsintown serves more than 68 million users and more than 560,000 artists, managers, labels, and booking agents.

Apple and Shazam are also touting that the new feature will help increase artist exposure. Apple's vice president for Apple Music and Beats, Oliver Schusser said that this new feature came just in time for the re-emergence of live music after the COVID-19 pandemic.

“Shazam has a long history of innovation in music discovery and connecting artists and fans. With the re-emergence of live music, we're excited to give Shazam users access to concerts and make it easier for artists to find," said Schusser.

The new concert feature rolled out today on the Shazam app for iOS and Android, as well as via the Shazam website. This is quoted from 9to5Mac, Wednesday, March 23.
