Heavy Rain In Ambon, Four Residents Fallen Trees

AMBON - High-intensity rain accompanied by strong winds caused several trees on Jalan Jenderal Sudirman, Ambon City, Maluku Province, to collapse. As a result, four people were injured by falling trees.

"Two motorcyclists and their passengers who suffered injuries are undergoing medical treatment at Siloam Hospital and Bhayangkara Tantui Hospital in Ambon", said Head of the Public Relations Section of the Ambon Island Police and Lease Islands, Ipda Moyo Hutomo, in Ambon on Wednesday.

He said residents who were injured by a falling tree included Alwin La Tua, 28, his wife and one child, and Stevan Ardilo, 29.

According to the information given to the police, Alwin saw a tree that was about to fall while riding a motorcycle but did not have time to avoid it.

"This incident happened to be exact in front of a cafe when the victim and his family were passing by", said Moyo Utomo.

According to him, the incident caused Alwin to get injured under his eyes, nose, and forehead as well as to feel short of breath and have pain in his waist so he had to undergo treatment at the Bhayangkara Tantui Hospital.

Another victim, Stevan, is still undergoing radiological examinations at Siloam Hospital so the police have not been able to ask for information from him.

A fallen tree on Jenderal Sudirman Street in Tawiri Village, Teluk Ambon District, had hampered vehicle traffic from Ambon City to Pattimura Airport.
