Ducati's Francesco Bagnaia Is Still Wondering After Falling At The Mandalika MotoGP

JAKARTA - Ducati Lenovo Team racer, Francesco Bagnaia, got a bad result at the Mandalika MotoGP, last weekend. He only finished in 15th position in the race which took place at the Mandalika Circuit.

Bagnaia is clearly disappointed with this result. The Italian rider only earned one point in the first two MotoGP 2022 race series. At the Losail Circuit, Qatar, Bagnaia fell.

During the Mandalika MotoGP, Bagnaia felt he had the potential to achieve good results. During the warm-up session, he was sure he could be competitive.

"I am ready to fight again to win with Fabio (Quartararo) because my feeling is great, but the result is very much different. So it is a difficult situation," Bagnaia said as reported by Crash.

All hopes of Bagnaia are shattered during the race. The rain, which made the track wet, made it difficult for the former Pramac Ducati rider to race in front. He even recorded the best lap time of 15, 1.6 seconds from Fabio Quartararo or Johann Zarco who recorded the fastest lap time.

"I have a lot of questions about my race. Because it's strange, when the test in Malaysia I felt comfortable on the wet track. During the test here (Mandalika) in the first session, I was very fast on the wet track and the feeling was great as usual," said Bagnaia.

However, during the Mandalika MotoGP race on a wet track, he actually struggled. He felt something strange from the start of the race.

Valentino Rossi's protege lost many positions. When he forced himself to chase the rider in front of him, he always felt a problem with the front of the bike.

In fact, he almost fell while braking ahead of the first corner. Bagnaia managed to survive, but had to leave the track and again lost many positions.

"I was lucky not to crash at the end of the straight because I was very fast and it was a bit scary," he said.

Bagnaia felt that this was not caused by the motor or the settings he made. According to him, the Ducati Desmosedici motorbike is extraordinary when on a wet track.

However, this time, it didn't happen.

"I struggled a lot with one of the strongest points of our bike in the wet, which is the front," he said.

However, he did not want to blame Michelin tires for the poor performance at the Mandalika MotoGP. However, he admitted, the tires did not work according to his wishes. According to him, it was very strange.
