JAKARTA - Oil palm plantation and processing company PT Sinar Mas Agro Resources and Technology Tbk (SMAR) ensures that it will maintain maximum production to ensure the availability of bulk cooking oil. The company owned by the conglomerate Eka Tjipta Widjaja has also started distributing bulk cooking oil according to the latest HET of IDR 14,000 per liter.
Corporate Affairs Director of Sinar Mas Agribusiness and Food Harry Hanawi said Sinar Mas still maintains maximum production from capacity so that the availability of bulk cooking oil meets market demand. It is estimated that the demand for cooking oil will remain high before and until Ramadan.
"In collaboration with relevant stakeholders such as the Ministry of Industry, Ministry of Trade, BPDPKS, and distributors, the company is committed to providing bulk cooking oil at a price of IDR 14,000 per liter and ensuring that consumers are entitled to quality cooking oil for daily consumption, especially ahead of Ramadan," said Harry in an official statement, quoted Monday, March 21.
He said Sinar Mas had continued to distribute bulk cooking oil with a HET of IDR 14,000 per liter, as regulated in Permendag No. 11/2022. The determination of the new HET for bulk cooking oil is in line with the revocation of the DMO and DPO policies for palm oil.
